If you like poetry you’ll like this……

The writer Janet Morley has published a book called ‘the heart’s time’ which consists of a poem a day for Lent and Easter, with reflection and ideas. The poems are varied, old and new. Angela Singleton invites you to join her at home,131 Cedar Avenue, Hazlemere, at 2.30 p.m on Mondays in Lent to share and reflect on some of these treasures. You do not need to buy the book or come every week.. 

The dates are 27th Feb, 5th March, 12th March, 19th March, 26th March, 2nd April

Church 75th Anniversary

As some of you are aware this year is the church's 75th anniversary and it has been suggested that we should celebrate this. We will discuss possible ways of doing this at Church Council on March 1st but if you are unable to attend and have ideas that you think we could use, please inform me or one of the stewards. Thursday 1st March at 7.30pm: Holmer Green Annual General Meeting and Church Council Meeting. If there are any items to raise under AOB, please let Rev Mike Hill or Barbara Illingworth know before the meeting - thank you. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please send a representative from your organisation. The meeting is open to all

Friday 2nd March at 2pm: Women's World Day of Prayer at Baptist Church. The theme this year if 'Let Justice Prevail' and is written by the women of Malaysia. All welcome - not just 'women'! If you need a lift call Barbara (712236) - I need to get there fairly early as I am leading it.

Mission Evening Saturday 25th February at 7pm.

Come along and hear Rev, Dr. Chris Shannahan talk about ‘Looking for a N.E.E.T spirituality’, based on his work and mission in Birmingham city centre. (N.E.E.T stands for Not in Education, Employment or Training).There will be a shared finger buffet supper, to follow. There are no tickets or admission charge but there will be a retiring collection to cover costs and for the continued work in Birmingham.

If you are coming please let Joy, Jackie or Brenda Clark know so we have some idea of numbers and what food is being brought to share.

Churches Together Joint Lent Groups

This year we are offering just two Study group times:

  1. Wednesday afternoons at Christ Church Lounge commencing with refreshments from 1.45.pm. Study ending at 3.30.pm.

  2. Wednesday evenings at the Baptist Church. Refreshments available on arrival. Study time 8.pm. to 9.30.pm.

Tylers Green Methodist Church will be having a Maundy Thursday Faith supper at 7.pm. April 5th

It will be led by Rev Angela Singleton and will be on a “bring & share” basis. If you intend going can you please let Tylers Green know or Angela.

Lighthouse Fundraising Event
